Some notes from my mid-year pre-review discussion with my DGL
Be proactive to collect feedback
(I feel it’s very result-oriented :) my DGL asked me to be selfish)
Look at TCM details, find the delta between the next level and your current level
Before staffing on a new study, talk to the EM/ED, raise the bar, “I want to work as xxx (the next level role) and I want to improve on XXX (plug the delta here)
Then you set an expectation, and they will focus more on the points you mentioned. And when they provide feedback, they will know what feedback is helpful to you for your next role.
How to make a good story
The best story:
Client study -> an internal asset (never do the internal one more than 3 months/year) -> apply the asset to a client study and play a leading role
A good but not best story:
An internal asset -> no client study but personal impact: learn new tech skills (don’t mention domain if you don’t get a client study, the domain is useful only when you get a client study in that sector)
感恩我的DGL可以说是非常掏心掏肺了
